Top Ten Tuesday

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. This week I am writing about the top 10 new-to-me authors that I read in 2015.

1.  Carol Weston:  The book that I read this year was AVA XOX.  It's a fun middle grade novel that left me interested in Carol's other work.

2.  Ali Dean:  The book that I read this year was Pepped Up.  It's the first in the Pepper Jones series and the romantic tension between Pepper and Jace really made me want to read the next book in the series.

3.  Cecil Castelluci:  I read The Plain Jains and The Year of the Beasts and both were very unique.

4.  Anna Katmore:  I read Play with Me and Ryan Hunter and loved both of them.  The series focuses on high school soccer players and they're fun, contemporary reads.

5.  Chloe Caldwell:  I still haven't gotten around to reading Women, which is the story that everyone seems to be talking about.  But I did read The New Age Camp this year.  Which was a unique and insightful story about her time working at a summer camp.

6. Sara Ryan:  Empress of the World is a book that I picked up for $1 at Ollie's and I'm sure glad I did.  I still think about the characters in this book, months after reading it.

7.  Kody Keplinger:  I read Shut Out.  But I definitely need to get my hands on a copy of The Duff. haha

8.  David Auburn:  I read his play Proof.  It was really good.  I recommend it if you have a thing for quirky characters like I do.

9. Monica Leonelle:  I love her writing process books.  The first one I read this year was Write Better, Faster.

10.  Claire Contreras:  I read Kaleidoscope Hearts, which was a satisfying romance.

What authors did you read this year that you would recommend?

Take care,
Marian
