5 Reasons to Keep a Paper Journal

1.  To document life

Back in middle school I would keep a daily journal that was basically a play by play of my entire day. Those journal are by far the funniest ones to look back on because they record every phone call, every instant messenger conversation.

2.  To vent

When you have a frustration, write it down!  I think that's one of the best ways to let it all out because then you can say what you truly feel and not hurt anyone's feelings.  Just make sure your journal doesn't fall into the wrong hands like in Harriet the Spy.  That would not be good!

3.  To remember things

You may or may not have heard of the bullet journal craze, but it's really picking up in popularity.  I'm a fan because I love the idea of having a journal of bullet points (or lists).  It's one of the best ways to keep track of everything that's going on in life.

4.  To doodle

We all get bored sometimes.  I keep my moleskine on the desk with me at work for when I have some down time and need something to do.

5. To Collect Ephemera

Things that I put in my moleskine: washi tape, parking tickets, movie ticket stubs, clippings from magazines, bookmarks.  You get the picture.  I think it's fun to collect ephemera and little mementos from life.

Take care,
