Ten Books I Picked Up On A Whim

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly book blogging meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish.  This week we are talking about the 10 books that we picked up on a whim.  I feel like a lot of my reads happen this way, but here are the most recent 10 that I remember.

1. Amy and Roger's Epic Detour - I was at the beach and this one seemed like a good beach read.  It was!

2. The Princess Diaries - My Mom bought this for me as a vacation read when I was in middle school.  It has since then become one of my absolute favorites.

3. Harry Potter - When it first was published I wanted to find out why everyone couldn't stop talking about this book! haha

4. Because of Low - I got it for cheap on Amazon.  I think this is the first older ya/na book that I ever read.  Thanks Abbi Glines!

5.  Tales of the City - I picked this up on a whim at one of my town's annual used book sales.  I've read most of the Tales of the City series since then.  I think the cover of my copy is what intrigued me.

6. Prom Anonymous - This book introduced me to Blake Nelson.  I had never ready any of his books before and my Mom saw this one on display at one of our local libraries and pointed it out to me.

7. How to Deal - I saw the movie and then picked up the book randomly at a used book sale.

8. The Thornbirds - I found this one at a used book sale. (This seems to be my most used explanation in this blog post).

9. Empress of the World - I bought this book for a couple of dollars at Ollie's.  I usually like fiction where the main characters are gay or trying to find themselves and so that's why I picked this one up.

10. The perks of being a Wallflower - my college recommended it and so I randomly picked up a copy at B&N.

What books have you picked up on a whim?  Did you enjoy them?

Take care,
Marian
