How I Fill Out My Monthly Checklists

Happy Friday & Welcome back to the blog!  I'm the lucky duck who got Saturday AND Sunday off work this week (very uncommon in the hospitality business) so I'm heading off to the beach for a couple of days.  But before I go, I thought I would share with you how I filled out my Monthly Checklists book for July.

First things first, I doodled in the cover a little bit.  I also filled in the month space so that I remember that these are goals for JULY and not another month.

On the inside I marked down the calendar days so that I have a reference for when I need it.  I also brainstormed 5 character traits that I want to work on this month.  I want to be:
  • Brave - keep trying new things
  • Productive - keep creating!
  • Ambitious - find a new job.
  • Self assured - believe in myself and my self worth!
  • Happy - Go out and have fun!
Some of these will be easier than others, so we will have to wait and see how that goes.

On the next page I thought about what creative projects I want to work on this month.  So far I have 5.
  1. Bring back my daily writing habit!
  2. Read a little bit every day
  3. Release a new zine for my shop.
  4. Start editing Make Me Believe (my NaNoWriMo '15 novel)
  5. Publish 3 thoughtful blog posts a week
On the right side is a list of books that I would like to read this month.  Six books might be a little bit too ambitious so I am a little doubtful that I will actually read all of these.
  • While You Were Mine by Ann Howard Creel
  • Cherry Ames Cruise Nurse by Helen Wells
  • Dirty Angels by Karina Halle
  • Restless Waters by Jessica Park
  • He Will Be My Ruin by K.A. Tucker
  • Knowing You by Allie Everhart

And last but not least, my project pages.  On the left I have some ideas for blog posts that I would like to write this month and on the write I have some keyword ideas for JulNoWriMo.  I'm not actually sure if I'm going to participate yet (because as I write this blog post, it is Tuesday June 28th) but if I do decide to participate, these are some keywords that will hopefully get me started.

Take care,
(And happy weekend!)
