My 10 Favorite Contemporary Romance Books

Happy Tuesday & Welcome back to the blog!  Today's Top Ten Tuesday post is hosted by The Broke and The Bookish and poses the question, "What are your top ten all time favorite books of X genre?" I decided that I would focus on contemporary romances because that is one of my favorite genres!

My 10 Favorite Contemporary Romance Books

1. The Lucky Harbor Series by Jill Shalvis

2.  Anything Christmas-y by Debbie Macomber

3. The Consequence of Seduction by Rachel Van Dyken

4. My Reckless Valentine by Olivia Dade

5. Shelter Mountain by Robyn Carr

6. The Boy Series by Meg Cabot

7. Maid for Love by Marie Force

8. Time Out by Jill Shalvis

9. Huckleberry Summer by Jennifer Beckstrand

10. The Silver Strand Series by Liz Reinhardt & Steph Campbell
  • Although please note, this series has been reissues since I first read it.  It's still known as The Silver Strand series but Liz and Steph republished it under the pen name Lexi Scott.

Some Traits that I Look for in Contemporary Romances

  1. Humor.  I like for the characters to be funny or have good senses of humor.  That usually means they wind up in silly/amusing situations.
  2. Small towns.  I love a good small town romance.  I like Jill Shalvis's Lucky Harbor series because all of the different books and characters intertwine with each other a little bit.
  3. Recognizable authors.  There are certain authors that if I enjoyed one of their books, I'm certain that I will like the rest of them

Some questions for you!

Do you like contemporary romances?
If so, what are some of your favorites?

Take care,

  1. Nice list! I have actually read a few of these and loved them but I always meant to go back and pick up Maid for Love. I remember going to buy it on Amazon and I think I was short at the time or something. Either way, I am going to order it right now! It is actually a few bucks cheaper now than when I last seen it. STEAL! haha

    1. Very nice!! I think I actually bought it for kindle for $0.99 a few years ago. Gotta love when books go down in the price.

Although when I'm buying hardcopies of books on Amazon, I always make sure that I make the price limit for free shipping. haha
