How I'm Simplifying My Life

Every time the seasons change, I feel a need to organize (or re-organize my life).  I like to make sure that my living space, my work space, and my head space are all cleared out and ready to go.  These are some of the ways that I am simplifying my life.

1.  Selling unused items

I'm an amateur, but sometimes I like to try to sell things that I don't really need on eBay.  I've only sold a few items on there but it seems like a great place to get rid of unnecessary belongings.  I've had only positive experiences as a seller on Ebay.

2.  Getting rid of paper.

I think it's going to be a while before I can go completely paperless (ex: The Ultimate Guide to Going Paperless) but that's the dream.  Right now I'm trying to clean out my room of excess paper and things that I don't need.

3.  Cleaning up my Google Drive and my Evernote accounts.

Google Drive is my dumping ground for ideas, stories, and writing while I am at work.  That means that my accounts fill up rather quickly.  I want to go through and decide what to do with certain projects as well as get rid of the files that I don't need anymore.

4.  Donating old clothes.

There is a Salvation Army across town from where I live that is always collecting donations and so at the end of the season if I have clothes that don't fit I like to take them there.  That way someone else will be able to use them.

5.  Donating old books.

My library holds a huge used book sale every year at Franklin & Marshall college (ex: See my book haul from last year!)  They collect all kinds of used books and movies which is nice because it gives me a chance to clear my shelves.

I'm planning on implementing all of these ideas by the end of the month.  I plan to have a progress update next week!

Take care,
