A Holiday Trip To Philly

I requested to use a couple of my PTO days this week because I can't carry them over to next year, so I decided to buy a train ticket to visit my twin brother in Philadelphia.  This is the story of how my Saturday went!

6:00 A.M. - I woke up, packed my backpack, and got ready for my day.  I charged my iPad so that I would be able to do some reading on the train.

7:30 A.M. - My Mom drove me to the train station.  I boarded the train about twenty-five minutes later and luckily found a seat all by myself!  I took a picture of the Downingtown stop because I liked the colors of the apartments.

9:15 A.M. - Brendan picked me up at the train station!  We got coffee from Dunkin Donuts and caught up on life and talked about what we wanted to do during the day.

10:00 A.M. - We decided to walk over to the Philadelphia Museum of Art.  It was kind of a long walk but we wound up getting good exercise during the day.

10:30 A.M.  - We arrived at the museum.  Of course I had to run up the stairs like Rocky and get my picture taken.

12:30 P.M. - We walked around the museum until we got hungry.  Then we walked over to the Reading Terminal Market so that we could get some lunch.  I got a HUGE burrito that was very delicious from this stand that I can't remember the name and Brendan got a sandwich from DiNic's.

1:30 P.M.  - We wound up eating at a table in the market and then decided to walk over to the Christmas Village, which was very neat.  Lots of handmade stands and they even had a carousel!

2:30 P.M. - We walked over to Macy's and looked around a little bit.  Then we got coffee and hung out in Starbucks until it was time for the light show at 4 o'clock.

4:00 P.M. -  The lights show in Macy's!  It was a very nice display and it was even narrated by Julie Andrews, who I love.

Pretty, right?

4:30 P.M. - 6:00 P.M - We walked around center city and looked at some shops.  Brendan took me to Trader Joe's because I've never been there before but I heard it was really cool.  And it was!  I got some gingerbread cookies and some greet tea to take home on the train with me.

My train was scheduled to leave at 6:55 P.M. and it was actually on time.  Yay!  I had a really great day.  I would love to go back to Philly again when it's warmer!

Take care,
