Marian's Guide to Positive Living: Part 2

Marian's Guide to Positive Living is a 3 part blog series that will be leading up to the announcement of my new (& free!) journaling workbook on Friday February 17, 2017.

Happy Monday & Welcome back to my blog!  Today is the second day of my 3 part blog series about staying positive, upbeat, and inspired in your everyday life.  This is all leading up to my free 5-day journaling workbook which will be announced this Friday.

If you missed Saturday's blog post, make sure to check it out here.

For today's topic, we're going to talk about productivity, because I always feel good and inspired when I'm getting things done, and I want to share some of my tips with you!

Tips for Staying Productive In Your Everyday Life

1.  Make a List

I learned a couple of years ago that to-do lists are my best friend.  If I don't write things down (or type them) I will absolutely forget what I want to do and get distracted by Pinterest or Netflix.

The picture above is a couple of different shots of my bullet journal from this year.  I started my new journal at the very beginning of 2017 and it's doing me well so far!  On the left side of my notebook is my food log for the day and on the right side is all of the things I want to accomplish that day.

There are other ways that you can make lists as well.
  • Notebook
  • Notes section of your phone
  • Evernote
  • Trello
  • Google Drive
  • In your email
  • On scrap paper

It doesn't matter what method you use.  The important thing is to keep track of your tasks so that you can stay accountable to yourself.

2.  Challenge Yourself from Time to Time

On days that I'm not too busy (like my days off from work) I like to assign myself new tasks or projects that I know will take a lot of work.  Sometimes you should challenge yourself because that's the only way you'll grow.

3.  Don't be Too Hard On Yourself

You didn't finish everything on your list for the day?  It's ok!  Don't beat yourself up over it.

I have my own method where everything that I didn't finish that day gets highlighted so that I know that I need to add that to my list for tomorrow.  The goal is to get everything done, but to do it at your own pace so that you aren't left feeling stressed.

That's all for today.  Check back on Wednesday for the third installment of Marian's Guide to Positive Living series and check back on Friday as well so that you can get your free journaling workbook!

Take care,
