How I'm Trying to Reignite My Love for Fiction Writing

Friends, I have been in a writing slump.

It's not that I have writer's block.  I know what I WANT to write.  I just can't get into writing it for some reason.  It's been weeks that I've been telling myself I will work on finishing the first draft of Alicia but I haven't done it yet.

Why?  I don't know.  There's nothing stopping me.  Except for myself, unfortunately.

1.  Take a Break

I think that when you're just not feeling a certain project, you can't force it.  You need to take a break and clear your head.  That's why I'm working on my zine projects and other things right now.

2.  Organizing

At the end of the week I want to look through all of my WIPs and figure out a plan for all of them. One of the ways I get so confused in my own writing is that I write without a plan.  Sigh.  When will I ever learn?

3.  Take it Step by Step

When I do start trying to work on my fiction writing again (which will be at the end of this week, hopefully) I can't just sit down and write 1,000 words in one writing session.  It's possible, but it also seems a bit demanding.

Have you ever been in a writing slump?  What do you try to do to get out of it?

Take care,
Marian
to keep up to date with all my latest ramblings! :)
