Creating a Business Plan (for the rest of 2017)

Happy Labor Day, friends!  As you read this post, I will be driving back from Lewes, Delaware, where I spent the weekend reading and relaxing and spending time with my family.  Not only is it a holiday weekend, but my Mom’s birthday was on Saturday, so we had a very exciting few days indeed.
Yours truly,

Now it’s time to get back to work!

I’ve been listening to a lot of Podcasts lately about writers, creative business owners, and other types of entrepreneurs.  I’ve been soaking up a lot of information and while on one hand it’s overwhelming, hearing about everybody’s successes has made me even more determined to find financial success in my own business.

I’ve been trying to use my lunch breaks at work more efficiently so I’ve started bringing my laptop with me so I can work on my creative projects during that blessed free time between twelve and one.

Last week, I challenged myself to sit down and outline the rest of my year.  I thought about how much time I have left (September, October, November, & December) and about everything I want to accomplish.

As you can see, I want to accomplish A LOT.  But I think if I break it up into small pieces, I will be able to manage everything (as well as my actual job).

As you can see in the posted photo, there are 5 different categories of my business that I want to continue to grow and develop over the next couple of months.

+ fiction writing
+ zine making
+ my blog
+ printables
+ artwork

I would say that some categories are more important to me than others.  Fiction Writing is my main priority, but zines and blogging are definitely close behind.  Digital Downloads and Artwork are of lesser importance to me but  they are skills that I want to develop, nevertheless.

Have you thought about what you want to accomplish by the end of the year?  Do you have any New Year’s Resolutions that you need to do some work before you achieve them?

I feel ya!

Summer’s over folks and we have work to get done.  I’ll be seeing how many tasks I can check off my list this month and will be back at the end of September with an update.

Yours Truly,
Marian Elizabeth
to keep up to date with all my latest ramblings! :)
