3 Ways to Use Your Creative Skills at Christmas

Something that I've known for my whole life is that holidays are a wonderful time to get creative. My Mom instilled that belief in me. I still remember when I was a kid and we decorated salt dough turkeys while we were at my Grandma's house for Thanksgiving.

My Mom and I still spend a lot of time creating, especially now that it's Christmas.  Here are 5 ways that my Mom and  I use our creative skills for Christmas. Hopefully this inspires you to do some creating for Christmas as well.

1. Creative Christmas Gifts

To use my Mom as an example, she is what I would consider a very experienced knitter. For the people that are really important to her she knits them socks for Christmas. She's also experimenting this year by making dryer balls for her friends and coworkers. Fiber is something that she's interested in and she uses her passion to make Christmas gifts. I think that's an amazing thing.

2. Creative Christmas Wrapping

Christmas wrapping is very important for hiding/keeping secrecy about your Christmas gifts for other! I follow Julie Fei-Fan Balzer (@Balzerdesigns) on Instagram and I am so impressed by her December stamp carving project. It reminds me that Christmas wrapping CAN be creative. You can use different art supplies and ideas that you have in your mind to create artistic Christmas wrapping for gifts.

3. Creative Christmas Cards

This is something that I specialize in. Just check out my Christmas cards from 2011. Haha. I can confirm that I have progressed in my Christmas Card Making and Photography since then. I just goes to show that you don't have to spend $5 per card to get a Hallmark card. You can great just as great of a card at home!

Wishing you all a Merry Christmas Eve & a Very Happy Christmas! I'd better get off my computer because in less than an hour, my family is heading to the movies to see the new Star Wars film!

Yours truly,
Marian Elizabeth
to keep up to date with all my latest ramblings! :)
